Rapper Anklegod’s new single takes you on a Ride

Toronto, ON (July 14, 2020) – Today emerging Vancouver-based rap star Anklegod releases his first song in 2020, “Ride” featuring Sharuk. Grounded in contemporary hip hop, but reaching for far more, Anklegod’s potent rap skills coupled with the uniquely tailored soundscapes of his new single, demonstrate why he has emerged as one of the most prolific young voices rising out of Canada’s West Coast. At only 18 years of age, Anklegod’s prodigious triple threat talent (emcee, vocalist, producer) has already seen him craft a catalog of self-produced, mixed and mastered songs that first took flight and opened eyes on his much talked about anthology project Ankaveli Volume’s 1 and 2.

Ride sees Anklegod teaming up with rising R&B singer Sharuk, one of Vancouver’s best kept secrets, on this infectious summer single that fits well for any home workout or while speeding through empty city streets. The song begins with a strong chorus from Sharuk, who has an innate talent for big vocals, which sets the stage for Anklegod’s electric energy that can be felt as soon as his first verse gets rolling. Globally, rap critics have heard the whispers about a newer rap renaissance coming out of Canada, and this song has the potential to be one of those drivers and anthems for Vancouver, given that it features two of the sprawling city’s most promising new acts. Anklegod has been waiting in the wings for his time to shine, while getting ready for the release of his debut album Only Time Will Tell, that is sure to assert him as one of the best young artists in Canada and beyond. The west is rising, and by many accounts – Anklegod is up next.
