Roy Banks is in love with hip-hop; he wakes up and breathes its presence and then goes and practices it in his spare time. His new release, “1 Of A Kind,” feels like an ode to the process, so much so that he says outright that he loves it. You can hear his infatuation with the craft in every line and word here and he’s all the more better for it.
